Villa Cafaggiolo's Wines
Our grandfather Stefano produced his first Chianti wine in 1950, from a small vineyard of Sangiovese grapes, not far from here; since then, our family has always been involved in the “Wine World”.
Now, the Villa Cafaggiolo’s wines are created with selected grapes from our vineyards and/or from few specialized vineyards nearby.
We collaborate with prestigious neighboring estates that has been producing wines since more than 500 years.
We are fascinated by old vineyards; by their finesse, elegance and the purity of the fruits they can produce.
Old vines, poor stony soils and natural viticulture characterize our production philosophy.
Recently, we have purchased 2 more vineyards, where there are “old vines” that are about 40/50 years old. These vineyards have been abandoned for about 20/25 years, so the vines were covered under a jungle of weeds and shrubs. It has been a hard work the clear the land and the vines. Now we have a dream… to produce an excellent and unique Chianti wine from 40/50 years old vines!
